Today was a very relaxing day at home... I went outside briefly to feel the sun and wind on my face.
Wanted to take in some fresh air... well NYC air. Smells like a mix and quick whiffs of old sneakers, Chinese food, beer and scrap medal. Gotta love it though.
There is nothing like walking the streets of New York to people watch and discover new sights. There is always something new to see and look at with amazement whether its a person talking and singing to themselves or the many fashion statements it can be very entertaining.
Although the ongoing noise of sirens, car horns and trucks are sometimes overwhelming and plain ole tiresome I still have a love for the city. Yes I must say a few days to escape the hustle is long overdue. Living in New York has its moments of rewards. When I say reward this includes the benefits of always having something to do within close proximity of home. The convenience of NYC is always pleasurable. However the expense for a single parent of two is one of the biggest challenges for my pockets. Yes my sorry pockets which seems to always consist of lent balls and old buttons possibly a one crumbled up George Washington with a few shiny copper Abe Lincolns and maybe some silver coins which are never that shiny but vandalized by old Mike and Ikes or peppermint candy stickiness. Yup turn me upside down and shake me like a salt and pepper shaker.... that's what will hit the floor probably mike and ikes, gum rappers and or coins....
Don't get it twisted... I do manage my small income as smart and as frugally as I can however I do know there are some things that I need to change in order to break even and get ahead. I mean a woman is sick and tired of being sick and tired.. You hear me?
So as while all the bills that I accumulate are a tremendous pain in the ass, and while I still have the taste of someone that makes six figures. I still would like to make some minor changes to my apartment. I would love to paint, add shelving, throw rugs, wall art, new window treatment, couch, and accessories. This apartment is so dated. the fixtures are old and dull. Yes Apartment 3C needs a life of a six figure income on a not so much income pocket. Ya feel me? I'm gonna try my best to make it happen.
Life is good, God is good.. and I have faith that my aspiration to become more frugalnistic.... yes that's a word.... will become a wonderful habit and road to success..... I hope to learn and save as much as possible.
